Savage argues that “killer drones” must be banned in combat because they violate the Geneva Convention and dehumanize war by turning soldiers into “mincemeat,” leaving nothing to return to families. He discusses why we must restore humanitarian standards and reason, comparing rules in warfare to rules in sports like boxing and MMA. He cites existing bans and restrictions on weapons such as chemical and biological agents, blinding lasers, and cluster munitions to show that warfare already has limits. He then outlines the four Geneva Conventions and core war-crime prohibitions such as torture, mutilation, hostage-taking, and biological experiments. He reads passages from Isaiah and Rudyard Kipling’s “If,” urges de-escalation to avoid wider war and nuclear risk, and calls on the public to speak out.
