Iran’s security chief on Thursday denied allegations that Tehran was behind a plot to assassinate President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, as the U.S. Secret Service investigates a threatening video aired by Iranian state television. Mohsen Rezaei called reports of a potential Iranian plot to kill Barron a lie in an interview broadcast by Lebanon’s Al Manar TV, according to Reuters.
His denial came two days after the Secret Service confirmed it was aware of a video broadcast by Iranian state television discussing a potential plot to assassinate Barron, 20. The roughly three-minute video was titled “Where to Kill Barron Trump?” and purported to identify locations associated with Barron, including his university and other places he is known to frequent. The video also claimed Barron was being monitored and alleged that a $10 million reward had been offered for his killing, although the bounty claim has not been independently verified.
