RINO Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) told reporters on Wednesday, as the House was working to pass the SAVE America Act a third time, that the bill is probably not going to pass in the Senate. During Senate Republican leadership’s weekly press briefing on Wednesday, Thune laughably claimed he’d be “willing to do just about anything because I think we are all here in favor of the Save America Act.” He then dismissed the idea of terminating the filibuster to ensure its passage.
“It’s also very unlikely that the Senate Republicans are going to vote to get rid of the legislative filibuster,” Thune said, suggesting he’s not even going to try. Instead, he blamed the Democrats for his leadership failures, telling reporters, “The issue here is the Democrats, and we ought to be going after them.” President Trump has previously called Thune out for being a weak leader and “playing it too soft.” “Well, he’s only a couple of votes short, but that’s what being a leader is,” Trump said of Thune’s claim that he doesn’t have the votes to nuke the filibuster in March. “That’s part of being a leader. You have to get the votes.”
