Nine people are dead after their Learjet crashed into a mobile home in Greenacres, near Military Trail and North 10th Avenue mid-day Sunday. BocaNewsNow.com broke the story as first responders arrived on the scene. The FAA Sunday afternoon confirmed to BocaNewsNow.com that nine people were on board the Learjet 60 that had departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and was en route to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas at the time of the crash. Public tracking data seemingly vanished from airplane tracking services within 30 minutes of the crash. The tail number is registered to a private LLC based in Delaware. The NTSB announced at 5:30 p.m. that is sending a “go team” to the crash scene.
Audio of what is believed to be the crash obtained by BocaNewsNow.com reveals a female pilot in distress as she reports to Air Traffic Control that her plane is descending rapidly, then banking. As the Air Traffic Controller tries to keep her calm, contact is lost. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue took more than an hour to release any information to the public. That led to rumors swirling online that missiles from President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, just a short distance from the crash site, struck and destroyed the plane. There is no indication — at all — that this rumor is reality, but is seemingly a direct result of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue keeping information private until well after photos, videos, and rumors circulated online. Even as of 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue has said very little about the crash scene. BocaNewsNow.com learned just a short time after the crash that area hospitals were put on alert for a mass casualty incident. Delray Medical Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and Wellington Regional Hospital were all told that a plane crash had occurred and to prepare for multiple victims. The victims never arrived.
