As reported earlier, a driver plowed a vehicle into Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, and opened fire on Thursday afternoon. The vehicle used to attack the synagogue in Michigan on Thursday was registered to a naturalized citizen from Lebanon who lives in Dearborn.
Update: The synagogue attacker has been identified: Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a Lebanese national who first entered the U.S. in 2011 on an IR1 immigrant visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen. He was naturalized into a U.S. citizen in 2016 during the Obama administration. Ghazali was born in Lebanon in 1985 and entered the US in 2011. He became a naturalized US citizen in February 2016 under the Obama Administration.
