Russia reportedly attacked a Ukrainian power plant on Sunday, hours after President Trump announced an energy ceasefire. As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, Trump announced a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, which Zelensky said he supports. “Effective immediately, there is an ENERGY CEASEFIRE in the War between Russia and Ukraine. Both parties have agreed. Do not break it! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump wrote on Truth Social this morning.
Zelensky later responded, writing, “Ukraine supports the ceasefire, and it is important that Russia support it as well. We are awaiting details from the American side.” The announcement followed a back-and-forth in the press between Trump and Zelensky after Trump announced a deal to purchase diesel from Russia. However, Ukraine continued attacks, striking a Russian diesel export hub, which angered the President. Trump went off on Zelensky on Saturday, calling for him to hold an election to replace him, and accusing him of dragging out the war. He doubled down hours later, saying Zelensky “should have an election” and that “Putin would like to see a settlement strongly,” but “Zelensky does not want to make a deal.”
