Iran’s new leader has just asked the United States for a ceasefire, US President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post on Wednesday. “We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion, back to the Stone Age” he said. It was not immediately clear if Trump was referring to Iranian President Pezeshkian or Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
Trump stated on Tuesday that the US could be done with the war within two to three weeks, but that it would be “possible we could make a deal before that.” He added that “we have had regime change” and that the US had completed its goal of preventing the possibility of Iran gaining a nuclear weapon.
