Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Thursday warned that any countries aiding the United States would face a “harsh response,” as Tehran carried out strikes on Jordan and Kuwait. The state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported that the IRGC said in a statement that it “called on America’s accomplices in the region and beyond to correct their behavior to avoid retaliation from the Iranian Armed Forces.”
The threat came after Iranian attacks on Jordan and Kuwait. ordan’s armed forces said it shot down five Iranian missiles, the second time this week it was targeted by Tehran. On Tuesday, Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles toward a U.S. military base in Jordan in what U.S. Central Command described as an “attempted surprise attack.” CENTCOM said all of the missiles were intercepted. Also Thursday, Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense said that an Iranian attack targeted a building belonging to a Chinese company, killing one worker and causing extensive damage to the facility.
