“He came out of nowhere”: Victim of caught-on-video Midtown attack

A 73-year-old man told The Post from his hospital bed Sunday how he was pummeled out of the blue in a caught-on-video assault in Midtown.

“I never actually seen him come at me,” victim Regis Moore said at Mt. Sinai Morningside Hospital, referring to his attacker Saturday morning.

“He came out of nowhere, and he hit me straight to the ground,” said Moore — adding that the brute even came back and took his hat.

“He came back to me,” Moore said.

The assailant snarled, ” ‘I’m gonna take your f—–g hat,’ ” the victim said.

“And he dropped it off some place. But the cops found the hat,” Moore said.

Moore, who has been the super at a West 47th Street apartment building since 2011, said he was just walking down the street around 7:30 a.m. Saturday when he was attacked.

He said his attacker slugged him in the gut, then knocked him to the ground, fracturing his shoulder and sending him to the hospital.

Surveillance footage released by police shows the alleged attacker — believed to be around 28 to 30 years old — walking down the street wearing a red jacket, gray sweatpants, black shoes and a dark-colored baseball cap.

Police said he remains on the loose.
