NEW YORK POST:
Authorities discovered a cache of World War II-era weapons — some of which appeared to still be operational — in a Brooklyn home Wednesday morning, law enforcement sources said.
Acting on a tip, police executed a search warrant at the 900-square-foot detached home on Avenue Z in Gravesend and found the decades-old firearms, along with an object that resembled a grenade, sources said.
The discovery of the grenade-like device at 7:10 a.m. prompted authorities to bring the NYPD’s Bomb Squad Unit to investigate, according to sources.
The department’s Emergency Services Unit also responded to the scene.
A resident at the home has an expired firearms permit, sources said.
