LEHIGH VALLEY LIVE:
A controversial church in northeastern Pennsylvania is holding its blessing ceremony Wednesday morning for couples wearing crowns and carrying AR-15-style rifles.
World Peace and Unification Sanctuary, also known as the Sanctuary Church, in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, says it has been planning the event for about four months — well before the latest violence involving an AR-15. That is the rifle a teenage gunman used to kill 17 people on Feb. 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, authorities said.
The Rev. Hyung Jin “Sean” Moon, pastor of the Christian sect, has designated the AR-15 was prophesied in the Bible as the “rod of iron.”
